How to Build an Ionic Foot Spa Array

Ionic foot cleanses claim to magnetically pull the toxins out of your body through your feet. This is done using electrically charged salt water that your feet soak in. While there has been no conclusive evidence that this method of detox in fact works, holistic medicine practitioners swear by it. If you'd like to try this treatment, give it a whirl yourself, at home, and avoid the expensive costs of a day at the spa.

Instructions

    • 1

Adhere one end of the electrical wire to a spoon with electrical tape. Repeat for the second spoon and piece of wire.

    • 2

Fill the large bowls with warm water. The bowls must be large enough to fit your foot and you must add enough water to completely cover your foot. Dissolve a tablespoon of salt in each.

    • 3

Connect the remaining end of a wire to the positive terminal of the 9-volt battery, connect the second wire to the negative terminal. Use the alligator clips to fasten them together.

    • 4

Drop the spoon ends into the bowls, one in each.

    • 5

Slowly dip your feet into the water, placing one foot in each bowl. Soak your feet for 10 minutes a day for the first seven to 10 days. After 10 days, gradually increase to 30 minutes. The water will become discolored with the toxins that are pulled from your body. View the color chart in Resources to determine exactly what toxins are exiting your body through your feet.
