Requirements

Holistic nutritionists seeking board certification must possess an associate's or doctoral degree in holistic nutrition, membership in NANP and 500 hours of field experience to be eligible for the qualifying examination. Successful completion of the exam earns applicants board certification.

Process

Before taking the certification examination, you must first submit a board exam application. Required documents include a resume, photo, pertinent transcripts, two letters of recommendation and copies of any professional licenses, as well as documents verifying the aforementioned prerequisites (NANP membership, field experience and education).
Warning

The NANP/HNCB charges a non-refundable board exam application fee of $75, and successful candidates must pay an additional $300 examination fee. A score of at least 70 percent is required to pass the exam.
