Vinegar & Honey Home Remedies
The word "vinegar," from the French vin aigre, means "sour wine." It is an acidic liquid resulting from the secondary fermentation of ethanol. Honey is a sweet liquid made when bees process nectar and turn it into food. Both of these natural substances have been used as food and as home remedies for centuries. For ingesting, apple cider vinegar is usually preferable over white vinegar. Always consult a physician or health care provider if symptoms persist or worsen when using a home remedy. Always consider home remedies as a complement to, not a replacement of traditional medicine.-

Apply vinegar to sunburns and other burns to relieve pain and help prevent blisters. It will also health soothe bee stings and jellyfish stings. Adding at least a ¼ cup of vinegar to a vaporizer or steaming pot of water and inhaling the vapor created by the steam will help ease chest and sinus congestion. Adding at least 2 tbsp. of vinegar to your bath water, or making and applying a paste out of vinegar and cornstarch, will help relieve dry and itchy skin. Rinsing your hair in a solution of 1/2 cup vinegar and 2 cups of warm water after shampooing will ease dandruff.
Honey

Honey is sterile, so bacteria can't live in it. This makes it an excellent salve to rub on burns, scrapes, grazes and shallow cuts. Mix equal parts of honey and warm water to form a lotion or eyebath for the treatment of conjunctivitis. A small spoonful of honey stirred into a mug of warm milk acts as a mild sedative to help you sleep, while a spoonful ingested straight acts as an energizing pick-me-up. Mixing 6 oz. liquid honey with the juice of two lemons and 2 oz. glycerin will make a mixture that will soothe your cough. Store it in a bottle with a tight lid.

Solutions of vinegar and honey together also serve as home remedies. Mixing 2 tbsp. of honey and 1 tsp. of vinegar in a cup of hot water to first gargle then drink will ease a sore throat. Making a similar drink by mixing a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of raw honey in a glass of chilled, fresh water creates an elixir that is thought to help remove toxins from the body and ease joint pain. Take at least two glasses a day, using organic apple cider vinegar for optimal results.
