Cedar Berries Allergy Remedy

Symptoms of Cedar Fever
-
Cedar fever is the layman's term for mountain cedar allergies. The symptoms include, but are by no means limited to: the nose being blocked and congested, watery, thin discharge from the nose, a nose that itches and runs, watery eyes, sneezing and a dry cough. It's important to know the difference between these symptoms and the symptoms from a cold so that you don't treat a cold with cedar berries, which won't do anything to alleviate your cold symptoms. The symptoms for a cold include a thick nasal discharge, fever, sinus pressure and pain, and a wet, but productive, cough.
Cedar Berry Cure
-
One remedy that is used by some people to counteract their cedar mountain allergies is to eat two to four cedar berries a day starting a month before allergy season begins in December. The idea behind this practice is to help the body build up an immunity to the cedar mountain pollen and, thus, to alleviate or ward off symptoms. Cedar berries, however, should not be eaten by pregnant women because they promote menstruation.
Other Properties
-
While cedar berries are used to help ward off and alleviate cedar mountain allergies by introducing the body to small amounts of the cedar mountain tree so it can become adjusted and no longer react to the pollen, there may be other reasons this works. Cedar berries also have been taken for coughs, and allergies can cause post-nasal dripping into the back of the throat, which in turn can cause coughs. This might be another reason it works for some when it comes to alleviating cedar mountain allergies.
