Homeopathic Ways to Get Rid of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are swollen and inflamed veins around the lower rectal area. They can be internal or external, located around the anus. Hemorrhoids can be prevented, and symptoms are treatable with homeopathic remedies. Homeopathy, developed during the 18th century by a German physician named Samuel Hahnemann, is based on the concept of like cures. Simply put, the same substance that causes a symptom is given in a smaller dose as a cure.

Nitric acid effectively relieves hemorrhoid bleeding. Nux vomica is a seed imported from the Philippines that controls chronic constipation and painful hemorrhoids. Peony is used for itch relief and ulcerations. Protruding hemorrhoids can be treated with sulfur. Sulfur is used to treat redness and itching and to provide relief from burning.

    Dosages

    • In situations where self-treatment is appropriate, select the remedy that matches your symptoms. Instructions for proper dosage are usually indicated on the labels. Homeopathic physicians suggest taking a dose, then monitoring its effectiveness. If symptoms or conditions noticeably improve, continue with your selected treatment. If no improvement results from a single dose, then take an additional one. Sometimes several doses may be necessary for symptom relief. In other situations only one dose per day suffices. If you do not notice any significant improvements, a different remedy choice may be necessary. It may take eight to 12 months to cure the condition, but most patients begin to feel better within two weeks.
