Homeopathic Remedy for Menopause
Homeopathic remedies are known as "alternative medicine." Alternative remedies are designed to take natural substances belonging to the Earth and reproduce them to work chemically with the body in order to cure, heal or temporarily relieve ailments and illnesses. Never use a homeopathic remedy in the place of a prescribed medication, particularly when the ailment or illness is potentially life-threatening.-
About Menopause
-
Menopause is the time of a woman's life when her menstrual cycles end. Menopause tends to bring on chronic medical conditions that usually require some type of treatment, whether by natural or synthetic medications. Some of the symptoms of menopausal disorder (post-menstrual syndrome) are depression, nervousness, irritation, anxiety, hot flashes, brief chills, insomnia, constipation, incontinence and vaginal dryness. There are homeopathic remedies that address these symptoms. What is important to remember is that while chemically-synthetic prescribed medications are designed to imitate or copy natural remedies that already exist in the Earth, not all homeopathic remedies work for all women in all cases. Consult with your doctor before trying a holistic approach to ease the symptoms of menopause.
Herbal Teas
-
For hundreds of years, women have used herbal tea remedies for their health issues. Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS), menopause and fertility and pregnancy symptoms have been alleviated and sometimes eliminated, with herbs and drinking specific teas. It is said (but medically unproven) that red clover tea is excellent for estrogen replacement. Other teas on the market have been scientifically blended to ease symptoms of menopause like hot flashes, night sweats and mood swings. Whichever recipe is used, stick with caffeine-free teas since caffeine is said to aggravate or possibly even cause migraine headaches in women.
Hypnotherapy
-
Hypnotherapy is backed by a school of thought called "positive menopause." The idea of having a positive menopause is not to concentrate on the bad things about going through the change, but to change the mind's mental focus and energy to concentrate on going through it safely and in a healthy state of mind when it's over. Hypnotherapists understand that menopause is a natural progression of the cessation of the female reproductive years, but that the progression is better helped with intentional control and a more natural approach than medicinal remedies. The hypnotherapy remedy is a three-step "mind over matter" program that lasts for three or four sessions that take about an hour each session.
Acupuncture
-
In acupuncture, or "needle piercing," a licensed acupuncturist inserts whisper-thin needles into and through the skin on its surface level in order to stimulate tissues and organs in the body. These needle insertions at "acupoints" are believed to transfer and balance energy in the body and redistribute it to restore health, energy and overall balance. Menopausal hormonal imbalances are often the cause of the lack of health or overall "good feeling." Acupuncture may be used to remedy this feeling of imbalance.
Hormone Replacement Therapy
-
Hormonal imbalance is a chemical reaction caused by the body going through different stages of menopause. During this time, women experience a loss of ovarian function, as well as the atrophy of the uterus, resulting in night sweats, hot flashes, uterine dysfunction (or incontinence). Two commonly-used supplements for hormone replacement therapy (called HRT), estrogen and progestin, but they both have side effects that may be more unpleasant than the symptoms. Safer alternatives to HRT have been developed in such homeopathic remedies as sepia, belladonna, sulphur, chamomilla, borax and camphora.
Other Remedies
-
There are other remedies available, such as aromatherapy, biofeedback, chelation, hydrotherapy, meditation, massage and yoga, that are administered or prescribed by homeopathic physicians or practitioners. As always, do not just stop taking prescribed medicine unless you have spoken with your doctor about it first. All homeopathic remedies do not work the same at all times for everyone.
