Tub Soak Detox
-
Water
-
Fill the tub with water as hot as you can stand it. Fill the tub as high as you wish, but make sure the water is hot enough to make you sweat.
Epsom & Dead Sea Salts
-
Normally Epsom salts are used to soak injured body parts to relieve pain and swelling, but in this detox they are used to pull the toxins out of the body through the pores. Dead Sea salts are added, because they have a different mineral content than Epsom salt. Add a cup and a half of each for each 5 gallons of water in the tub, and let them dissolve.
Essential Oils
-
Depending on what you are trying to accomplish with this detox, you should add essential oils to the water, for an aromatherapy benefit. Chamomile, vanilla, eucalyptus, mint, lavender and tea tree oils can be relaxing. Only a few drops of the oil is necessary to create a wonderful effect.
Finishing the Detox
-
Stay in the tub until the water grows cold, or until you can't stand the heat anymore. This detox is rejuvenating if done properly. After getting out of the tub, using a body brush, start at the legs and work up to the neck, to remove any salt remaining on the body.
