How to Get Sore Throat Relief

During the winter months, I find my throat hurting more often than I would like. As most of the time your sore throat is caused by a virus, asking your doctor for antibiotics will prove to be ineffective (antibiotics only work against bacterial infections). There are a few ways to get sore throat relief naturally.

Use a touch of Salt - Take a teaspoon of salt and mix it in a cup of warm water. Gargle with this water every few hours. This will help reduce the swelling and will provide almost instant sore throat relief.

Go Herbal - I have found that drinking herbal teas can provide sore throat relief. Ensure that the tea is warm, not hot, and sip it throughout the evening. Cough drops and lozenges are as equally effective.

Eat some Soup - Chicken Noodle Soup is an extremely effective weapon when trying to get sore throat relief. The combination of sodium and heat appears to do wonders to help reduce the swelling and pain associated with having a sore throat.
