How to Dilute Homeopathics
Homeopathic remedies stem from natural sources, derived from essences found in nature, usually from the parts of plants. To make your own homeopathic remedies in strengths you choose, you need to have a mother tincture, which is the natural essence in liquid form, and you'll need to either use distilled water or, which is more popular, a distilled, alcohol solution that is no more than 70 percent alcohol. Diluting to create your remedy is a matter of mixing and re-mixing these two components.Things You'll Need
- Mother tincture
- Alcohol solution
- Bottles

1
Mix together in one bottle the mother tincture with the alcohol solution in a ratio of 1:99, in which the mother tincture is one part and the alcohol solution is 99 parts.
-
2
Shake the bottle well. This part of the process is called succussion. By vigorously shaking the bottle, you mix it well, transforming the solution to a diluted, therapeutically active medicine. This now produces a homeopathic remedy of strength 1 CH (also called 1C). CH stands for Centesimal Dilution.

3
Repeat the process. Take the 1C dilution and mix it with a new alcohol solution in the same ratio, 1:99. For the Hahnemanian method, use a new bottle for the mixture. For the Korsakovian method, reuse the bottle containing the 1C mixture. Shake vigorously. Now you have a remedy that is 2C strength.

4
Continue repeating the process until you have the desired strength. Strengths of 6C are good for local or acute symptoms while strengths of 30C are better for general conditions. Homeopathic remedies can be found in various strengths up to 200C.
