How do I Train to Become a Hypnotherapist?
Hypnotherapy uses the state of hypnosis to treat physical and psychological problems. The British Society of Clinical Hypnosis estimates that 85 percent of people will respond at some level to hypnotherapy, and that it may succeed where other conventional methods of treatment have failed. Many people have found hypnotherapy to be beneficial for dealing with phobias, smoking cessation, weight control, stress, addictions and sleep disorders. Most states require nothing more than that hypnotherapists gain a diploma from an approved state-licensed school. Colorado, Connecticut, Indiana and Washington, however, require mandatory licensure. The National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists can provide details of approved training schools.
