What is carnauba wax?

Carnauba wax is a natural wax obtained from the leaves of the carnauba palm tree, which is native to Brazil. It makes up to 85% of its outer layer and is the most abundant naturally-occurring plant-based wax.

It is a hard wax having a melting point of 85 °C (185 °F) and is used in a wide variety of products including food, cosmetics, and shoe polish. It is also used in the automotive industry as a component of car wax and polishes.

Due to its high melting point, carnauba wax provides a long-lasting shine and protection against the sun, rain and other environmental elements. It is often used in high-end car waxes and polishes.

Carnauba wax is also used in the manufacture of candles, as it produces a long-lasting, smokeless flame.
