Can strobe lights hypnotize a person?

Strobe lights are not capable of hypnotizing people.

Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and increased suggestibility, usually guided by a trained therapist. While flashing lights or repetitive sounds can have a disorienting or distracting effect, they cannot directly induce hypnosis.

Certain individuals with photosensitive epilepsy or other neurological conditions may experience adverse reactions to strobe lights, but true hypnotic effects cannot be reliably achieved through mere exposure to flashing lights. Hypnosis involves a collaborative process between the hypnotist and the subject and usually requires verbal suggestions given by a trained professional.
