Is acro-orificial and acrofacial vitiligo same?

Acro-orificial vitiligo and acrofacial vitiligo are different types of vitiligo, a condition characterized by the loss of skin pigmentation.

Acro-orificial vitiligo:

- Affects the skin around the body's openings (orifices), such as the eyes, nose, mouth, and genitals.

- Also affects the skin on the extremities, including the hands and feet.

- Often involves the mucous membranes inside these orifices.

Acrofacial vitiligo:

- Affects the skin on the face and hands.

- May involve the mucous membranes of the mouth and eyes.

While both types of vitiligo can cause white patches on the skin, they differ in their specific locations and patterns of involvement.
