Therapeutic Considerations
-
Magnetic therapy works because the natural energy fields created by the magnets help to pull the body's natural systems back into alignment. For this reason, when making magnetic bracelets, it is important to carefully consider the spaces between the magnetic beads--more closely placed beads will create stronger energy fields, but not always the negative fields desired. Trial and error is usually the only method that can determine your individual magnetic needs.
Making the Bracelets
-
When making magnetic bracelets, use a thin stretchy jewelry string to allow you some room in getting it on and off. A good rule here is to measure around your wrist and add 1/2 inch.
The spacer beads you use can be the same size or smaller than the magnetic beads, but spacer beads larger than the magnetic beads usually aren't used, as some people believe it blocks the energy fields.
Simply thread the beads onto your string to reach your wrist circumference and tie the ends together. For example, if my wrist is 4 inches around, I need 4 1/2 inches of beads.
Wearing Magnetic Bracelets
-
The amount of time you wear your magnetic bracelet will vary from person to person, but it is always a good idea to consult your physician or physical therapist before engaging in magnetic therapy. In addition, if you begin to feel an increase in pain, nausea, or headaches or dizziness, stop wearing the magnets and consult your medical professional.
