Believe those abilities exist. The first step to using mind power is to believe it exists. Belief is the key. If you don't believe in the power of the mind, it is not going to work for you. How can you expect something to work if you don't believe it can? Your car will not start if you do not put the key in the ignition and turn it on. Belief is the key that turns on your awesome mind power.

Get rid of doubt and fear. In order to use your mind power effectively, you need to suspend all doubt and fear from your mind. Doubt and fear are the two greatest enemies. As long as you doubt the power of your mind, it will not work for you. As long as you are fearful, you are creating your own obstacles that keep you from accessing the power of your mind.

Learn to consciously focus your mind. The mind is easily distracted. You must learn to focus your concentration without letting outside distractions deter you from your goal. This can take time but the more you practice the easier it will become.

Accept the fact that your mind has unlimited potential. It is ageless and timeless. Your mind reaches beyond the confines of the physical material existence. Everyone has unlimited potential. Accept that fact and it will become easier to tap into that potential. It has been said that whatever you believe you can achieve. Live by those words and it will become so.

Use the tools of affirmations, visualization and meditation to tap into your mind power. If you have difficulty believing in the powers of the mind then you need to re-condition or reprogram your mind before you can begin using your mind powers. The beliefs that have been ingrained in our conscious and subconscious minds throughout our lives affect our life circumstances. You need to replace the old worn out program with a new one. For example, if you believe you will fail rather than succeed, in all probability you will fail because that is what you believe. If you believe that mind powers are nonsense then nonsense is what you will get. Affirmations and visualization can help you change that mindset. Meditation can help you to focus your mind and learn how to concentrate. It can also help you to look within and tap into your inner potential.
