Synflex Ingredients

Synflex is marketed as effective alternative medicine for arthritis relief. The ingredients are not intended to just alleviate pain and inflammation, but they are also designed to build up connective joint tissue to prevent arthritis symptoms from reoccurring. A quarter ounce of Synflex contains 1,275mg of cartilage builder, while the rest of the ingredients reduce inflammation and lubricate the joints. Most of the ingredients have been tested in clinical studies to confirm their usefulness in bone joint care.
  1. Plant Anti-inflammatories

    • Synflex contains several ingredients that reduce inflammation in the joints. A study of the yucca plant, also known as cassava, published in the Journal of Inflammation, reports that yucca contains the saponin, resveratrol. This saponin inhibits the production of nitric acid that causes inflammation. A second anti-inflammatory ingredient studied at India's Government Medical College is boswellin, a herb also known as Indian frankincense. It reduced pain and stiffness in 60 percent of bed-ridden arthritic study participants.

    Cartilage Builders

    • Cartilage is the flexible, cushioning, connective tissue between joints. When joint cartilage is damaged, patients suffer debilitating pain that decreases mobility. Synflex contains five ingredients that are believed to build cartilage. According to WebMD's Osteoarthritis Guide, glucosamine, Synflex's primary ingredient, is reported to be a building block for cartilage. The second predominant ingredient in Synflex is shark cartilage. Both the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science and Boston's Children's Hospital educate patients that shark cartilage contains glucosamine. Dr. Michael Lam, anti-aging specialist, reports that vitamin A is necessary for cartilage production while vitamins C and E are necessary for cartilage repair and formation.

    Enzymatic Anti-inflammatories

    • Synflex affects arthritis with the inclusion of anti-inflammatory enzymes. Bromelain, a protein-digesting enzyme, is cited by the University of Maryland Medical Center as having possible anti-inflammatory properties that is supported by years of clinical research. Among these properties is a reduction in osteopathic and muscular swelling and pain. The addition of trace mineral, manganese, supports the body's production of superoxide dismutase. Superoxide dismutase is an enzyme reported by the University of Florida to destroy free radicals associated with inflammation.

    Fatty Acid Anti-inflammatories

    • Synflex contains both Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. Both of these are reported by the University of Maryland Medical Center to reduce inflammation, joint stiffness and pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. Omega-6 fatty acids, in particular, are reported to increase bone density and prevent bone loss in women over 65 with osteoporosis. Synflex supplementation also mediates the need to consume foods like fish, whole grains and olive oil to get an adequate daily intake of Omega-3 fatty acids.
