What is a nodular lesion?
A nodular lesion is a localized abnormal growth of cells in the body that results in a palpable mass. It is a general term used in medicine to refer to any mass or lump that can be felt under the skin or during physical examination of a body part. Nodular lesions can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). They can occur in various organs and tissues throughout the body, and can manifest with different symptoms depending on their location and underlying pathology. Nodular lesions can be detected during routine physical check-ups, imaging studies (such as ultrasound, CT scans, or MRI), or through self-examination in certain body areas. Further investigation and diagnostic tests may be required to determine the exact nature and cause of a nodular lesion and guide appropriate treatment.
