What is a lower lobe pulmonary nodule?
A lower lobe pulmonary nodule is a small, rounded, or oval-shaped mass found in the lower lobe of the lung. It can be solid, partially solid, or entirely filled with air (cystic). Pulmonary nodules are often detected during chest X-rays or CT scans and can be benign or malignant. Further evaluation and diagnostic tests, such as biopsies, are usually necessary to determine the exact nature of the nodule.
