Sclerotic degenerative facet changes are a type of osteoarthritis that affects the facet joints of the spine. Facet joints are the small joints that connect the vertebrae, or bones of the spine. They allow for movement of the spine and help to support the weight of the upper body.
Facet disease, refers to a common condition that causes pain in the back and neck. It’s caused by wear and tear on the cartilage and bone of the facet joints, a condition known as spinal osteoarthritis.
