How long does it take to become a CNA?

It depends on the state you are in and the type of CNA program you choose. In most states, a CNA program can be completed in 4 to 12 weeks. Some states require more training, while others require less. There are also accelerated CNA programs that can be completed in as little as 2 weeks.

Most CNA programs include classroom instruction, clinical experience, and a state-mandated competency exam. The classroom instruction covers topics such as anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, nutrition, patient care, and infection control. The clinical experience provides students with the opportunity to work with patients under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The competency exam tests students on their knowledge and skills in order to ensure that they are competent to provide care to patients.
