Online Naturopathy Degrees

There are a number of options for on line naturopathy training. Undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate degrees are available through on line training. Certificate and continuing education hours for medical and alternative medical practitioners are also available on line. There are disadvantages to on line degrees. They lack the prestige and respect of regular classroom education at a residential university or college. They may not be accepted for some state licensing requirements. Finally, on line training often offers no practicum under the tutelage of a licensed practitioner. Any hands-on learning becomes the responsibility of the student.

  1. Global College of Natural Medicine

    • Global College of Natural Medicine offers a doctorate of philosophy in holistic health. In order to begin this training, applicants must have completed the bachelor of science in holistic health degree from Global College of Natural Medicine or hold an undergraduate degree in the health science field, a specialty certificate and master of science degree in holistic health from Global College of Natural Medicine. All training is available on line.

    Canyon College

    • Canyon College offers undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate degrees in naturopathy, as well as some certificate programs. Canyon College has offered long-distance programs since 1988. Canyon College also provides extracurricular seminars for students and professionals. Their Natural Health Summer Series in 2009 included 15 weeks of exceptional education offered free and on line.

    Everglade University

    • Everglade University offers a bachelor of science in alternative medicine entirely on line or on campus. The bachelor of science degree in alternative medicine includes courses in homeopathy herbs, botany, and traditional Chinese medicine. Courses are geared to practicing health care professionals who want to add natural healing skills to their current practice.

    Stratford Career Institute

    • Stratford Career Institute offers a Natural Health Consultant diploma as part of their on line/distance learning. Courses for this degree include herbal remedies, counseling skills, homeopathy, alternative therapies, relaxation techniques, diagnostic techniques, nutrition, weight control, exercise motivation, pain relief and sexual health. This training is available in five modules for under $700.

    Alternative Medicine College of Canada

    • The Alternative Medicine College of Canada offers a doctorate in naturopathy and a naturopathic practitioner certificate program. The Natural Health Practitioner Program can be augmented with specializations in naturopathy, homeopathy or bioenergetics. Completion of the certificate program and specialization training is a pre-requisite to their doctorate programs in naturopathy, homeopathy or Oriental medicine.
