How to Detox From a Fatty Diet
Fatty diets can lead to a buildup of toxins in the body. If you are on such a diet, these toxins residing in your fat cells may have damaged your body's ability to maintain a healthy status. One possible way of restoring your system's weight-control mechanisms is by flushing out these toxins. To remove these toxins from your body's fat cells, you may consider a detoxing routine.Instructions

1
Remove toxin filled foods from your diet. Toxins enter your body through the intake of food and beverages. Some of these toxins can enter through food additives, food with trans-fatty acids and alcohol. By replanning your diet to remove artificial foods, fast food products and alcoholic beverages, you are reducing the intake of toxins.

Flush out your body. After becoming accustomed to your healthy diet but before beginning a detox plan, you should flush out all the current material in your body. This means forgoing food for a period of time. Instead of eating, you should drink a lot of water. During this time, it is acceptable to drink citrus products, salt water and tea as well. You may also consider enemas and colon cleansing. The key to flushing your body is to avoid food and stay hydrated.

Detox. After flushing for one day, you begin the detox phase, which can last from one day to one week. Though a longer detox period may be more beneficial, your schedule may not allow for a full seven days of detox. During the detox period, you should only eat nutritious foods, such as whole grain products, fruits and vegetables. From the moment you wake up until you go to bed, you should be drinking one glass of water every hour. You may drink tea or coffee in the morning, but avoid eating or consuming caffeine altogether before bedtime.

Replenish your body. Finishing the detox period is not enough; you will need to restore your body's strength. To limit the intake of the toxins that caused your unbalance in the first place, you should continue avoiding toxin filled foods. In addition, replan your diet so that you are only eating natural, healthful foods. Whole grain products, green vegetables, fruits and proteins should be at the center of your post-detox diet.
