Mercury Detox Wih Olive Leaf Extract

Olive leaf extract has been found effective in the treatment of mercury poisoning. Mercury poisoning can occur from absorbing methylmercury from dental amalgams or eating too much fish containing mercury. For example, the EPA advises people restrict their consumption of white and albacore tuna because of its mercury content.
  1. Where Is Mercury Found?

    • Methylmercury is the form of mercury absorbed by the human body when it is exposed to medical supplies, building materials, dental "silver" fillings containing mercury, and food fish that contain mercury. Methylmercury exists in almost all fish in some amount.

    Project Olive ReLeaf

    • In a study published in 2005, a program called Project Olive ReLeaf treated 160 people who complained of serious symptoms from mercury poisoning. They reported digestive problems, severe respiratory issues, sleep disturbances, depression, weight gain, high blood pressure, anxiety, headaches and skin rashes. According to this study, after 90 days of treatment 85 percent showed an improvement of at least 60 percent of their symptoms.

Mercury Detox Using Olive Leaf Extract

    • Olive leaf extract contains a phytochemical called oleuropein that is derived from the leaves of Manzanillo and Mission olive trees. Olive leaf extract has antiviral, antibacterial and antibiotic properties that help boost the immune system while it works to detoxify heavy metals.

Mercury detox programs include removing dental amalgams, using a special protocol---such as taking olive leaf extract, charcoal and other nutritional supplements---and eating less fish.
