Natural Ways to Fight Fatigue
Many people have problems with fatigue. With to busy schedules, longer work hours and keeping track of children's activities, sometimes it may feel like there are just not enough hours in the day. If you are always tired you may turn to coffee, energy drinks and sugar to keep going. It is much better for your health to find natural ways to battle fatigue.-
Working Out
-
Exercise is your friend. Even if you are already slender, it is important to do some sort of work out almost everyday. Even if you feel too exhausted from work to move, forcing yourself to walk for a bit will give you more energy after. Movement keeps your muscles active and will help you to sleep better at night. Sticking to a regular workout routine will help you to have a higher energy level overall.
Sleep
-
Not getting enough sleep will cause you to be fatigued through out the day. If you suffer from insomnia, sleeping pills are not always the best long-term answer. Many sleeping pills will make you feel more exhausted in the morning if you sleep for less than eight hours a night. Instead, try taking melatonin supplements, which can help to regulate the natural amount of melatonin, a hormone that helps you to rest, in your body. Going to bed around the same time each night can also help you to feel more rested.
Food
-
The food that you consume can be a major contributor to your fatigue symptoms. It is important to eat enough protein, because it is good for your iron level and low iron can cause you to feel run down. It is also vital to eat breakfast every day. Morning fatigue can be easily improved by having breakfast. Smart breakfast foods include eggs, fruit and wheat toast. Don't forget to include some fat in your diet to help stay alert. Although it is a bad idea to munch on candy and cookies all day, foods such as nuts and avocados can be good for your energy level and over all well-being when eaten in moderation.
Keep Hydrated
-
It is important to drink plenty of water. Dehydration can cause you to feel lethargic. You should be drinking at least eight glasses of water each day. If you feel that you drink a lot of liquid and you still feel tired, ditch the juice and the soda and switch to plain water instead. Next time you feel like you are falling asleep at your desk, take a break and drink a nice, cold glass of water and see if your energy level improves.
