How to Write an Affirmation Statement
Self-help gurus, neuro-linguistic programmers and followers of "The Secret" all swear by affirmations. An affirmation is a statement about something you desire to create in your life, like health, wealth or emotional recovery. Affirmations work by reprogramming your subconscious brain to believe that the thing you want is already part of you. This causes you to behave as though it is true, which in turn creates the energy that will bring the thing into your life.Instructions

1
Figure out exactly what you want, as specifically as possible. For example, rather than saying "I want to make more money," say "I want to make an additional $300 a week."
-
2
Visualize how you will feel when your wish comes true. Articulate it as clearly as you can, focusing on good emotions rather than negative ones. For example, you might say "Making an additional $300 a week will make me feel secure, satisfied and relaxed," rather than "Making an additional $300 a week will mean I don't have to be worried, stressed or frazzled anymore."

3
Write down your affirmation in the present tense, using entirely positive language. For example, write "I make my additional $300 a week and I feel secure, satisfied and relaxed."
-
4
Repeat your affirmation statement to yourself often, as a mantra. Picture yourself living the life you desire now, not sometime in the future. Internalize the feeling of that life, and live daily with that feeling.
