What does word kanishk means?

Kanishka (or Kanishka the Great; in Sanskrit: कनिष्क; in Kharoṣṭhī: ) was the first great ruler of the Kushan dynasty. He was a king of kings and Kushanshah (shahanshah) who succeeded his father Vima Takto sometime around 127 CE, and ruled until his death around 150 CE. He was the first Kushan king to embrace Buddhism, and is famous for his religious and political achievements, and also as a great patron of the arts. Through a series of military campaigns, he expanded Kushan power to its greatest extent. He patronized Buddhism and held the Fourth Buddhist council at Jalandhar. He was a contemporary of the Roman Emperor Trajan.

The name "Kanishka" itself is a diminutive form of the Saka word Kanishka, meaning "beloved ruler" (kaniṣka 'youth, beloved', related to Sanskrit kaniṣṭha 'younger').
