What is flexi cyst?

Flexi cyst is an uncommon disorder in which a fluid-filled sac or growth, known as a cyst, forms in the tendon sheath of a flexor muscle. Although not cancerous, it can result in pain, swelling, and a limited range of motion in the affected area. Flexi cysts occur more frequently among those who excessively use their flexor tendons. This might include individuals involved in repetitive tasks such as typing, using musical instruments, or participating in sports that involve repeated finger and wrist movements. As a result, the flexor tendons become irritated, leading to synovial fluid accumulation and the development of a cyst.
