How to Heal With Polarity

1
Locate a school that specializes in training physical therapists in polarity. The American Polarity Therapy Association (APTA) has a list of approved schools in each state available on its website.
-
2
Travel to the school of your choice and ask to sit in on a student training session. Sitting in on a session can help you decide whether you like the curriculum and want to attend the school.
-
3
Enroll in the school of your choice, and take the classes required for certification. If the school you graduate from is APTA-approved, you will become a American Polarity Practitioner or a Registered Polarity Practitioner in the eyes of the APTA. If you want to become an official member of the APTA, you must submit an application.
-
4
Find a place to work. You can perform polarity therapy in your own home or in the home of clients, or you can rent office space.
-
5
Talk with with your client before treatment begins to learn what problems the client is experiencing and to let the client know what to expect during treatment. Ensure that your client is relaxed and comfortable around you, because you will be touching your client's body with your hands throughout the session.
-
6
Make sure your workplace is quiet and calm. Polarity therapy is all about relaxing the muscles and the mind so that energy can flow throughout the body freely. Once your client is relaxed, proceed with the polarity treatment.
-
7
Create a pamphlet to let your clients know what to expect after a treatment session. Warn them that sometimes the pain will increase before it gets better. If needed, give them a list of suggested diet adjustments and exercises to aid in their recovery.
