Portable Massage Chair Set-Up
-
1
Tilt your chair forward and raise the back of the seat until fully open. Ensure the cable is completely extended before sitting on the chair.
-
2
Remove the plastic covering from the feet.
-
3
Loosen the face cradle cam knobs and locks. Remove the face cradle pad from your chair. Turn the face cradle pad so that the cam locks are located on the side of your power hand.
-
4
Put the face cradle cushion on the stand. Slide the face cradle dowels into the chair's connector tubes.
Height, Angle and Seat Adjustments
-
5
The cable unit modifies the height of the chair. Decreased cable settings place the chair low and angled for shorter massage therapists. Increased cable settings place the chair with the seat farther from the floor for shorter clients and taller therapists. Make adjustments when no one is on the chair.
-
6
Change the cable placement by raising the seat to ease the tension on the cable. Remove the "Z" clip from the seat hole. Place the "Z" clip into the correct hole and pull back on the the seat rod until the cable is tight. The "Z" clip should be flat against the seat rod.
-
7
Change the seat angle by raising and lowering the seat height. Change the seat height by pushing in the button on the seat rod while lifting or lowering the seat. Release the button when correct height is maintained. Ensure the push button is released and the seat pipe is not resting on the "Z" clip before sitting on the chair.
Instructing Clients to Sit in the Massage Chair
-
8
Direct your client to stand on the side of the chair and grip the the chair frame above the chest cushion for support.
-
9
Tell the client to straddle the chair and place his knee closest to the chair on the pad farthest away from the body. Once the client is seated, he can place the other knee on that knee pad.
-
10
Make the needed changes to the face cradle and arm rest so the client is comfortable.
Face Cradle, Armrest and Sternum Pad
-
11
Release the cam locks and knobs on the face cradle. Request your client place a hand on either side of the face cradle and pull the cradle toward him until his face is resting comfortably in the cradle. Lock the cam locks and tighten the knobs securely.
-
12
Change the armrest position by pulling the tab to extend the strap. Release the cam lock. Raise or lower the armrest until the client's arms are relaxed without sagging or raised shoulders. Lock the cam lock and pull the strap until taut. Some massage chairs have metal rods instead of cam locks to support an armrest.
-
13
Use the sternum pad in a horizontal position with the crest directly below the breasts for pregnant women. Position the sternum pad vertically for shoulder massage or clients with large breasts. Replace the face cradle cushion with the sternum pad so that the crest of the sternum pad bolsters the cervical spine. Adjust according to height.
Breaking Down and Toting the Massage Chair
-
14
Release the armrest cam lock and strap to lower to fold the armrest. Bend down the the face cradle, lock the cam locks and tighten the knobs. Place the seat button on the seat rod into the appropriate hole.
-
15
Tilt the chair forward and push in the seat. The chair will fold.
-
16
Tote the chair by grabbing onto one of the main rods and placing the seat cushion against your hip.
Massage Case
-
17
Position the case with the zipper on the side of the chair. Drape the case with the zipper open all the way over the top of the upright chair.
-
18
Zip the zipper as much as possible. Place the chair on its side and pull the case up over the legs.
-
19
Zip the zipper until closed. Use the strap of the case to carry the package.
