How to Add Minerals to Filtered Water
Minerals are one of the necessary components of life. Humans obtain minerals from food and water. Water naturally contains calcium, magnesium, sulfite, iron, manganese and sodium. These minerals are often removed from water to reduce hardness, to make for more suds from soaps and for cooking palatability. Filtering and distilling water may also reduce the availability of these minerals in drinking water. Individuals who are missing certain minerals in their diet can add minerals to their filtered drinking water through liquid mineral droplets, a special water bottle or by purchasing a water filter that adds minerals as part of the filtration process.Things You'll Need

1
Purchase a liquid mineral supplement, such as Mineral Life or Majestic Earth. Mineral supplements are sold individually by the mineral or as a multi-mineral supplement. Read the directions on the bottle to determine dosage amounts. Shake the bottle gently to stir minerals. Liquid minerals come with a dropper as part of the cap. Unscrew the cap and depress the rubber squeeze top a few times to draw liquid minerals into the dropper. Hold the dropper over a glass of filtered water. Squeeze the rubber top to drop in the minerals as directed on the bottle.

Obtain a Water Minerals bottle. Water Minerals is a company that sells a specially designed bottle for mineral supplementation of filtered water on the go. Unscrew the top. Pour in filtered water. Screw top on. Allow to sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Negative hydrogen ion bubbles will be generated by the contact between the water and the minerals. The company says the process produces an antioxidant water.

Install a water filtration system that adds minerals after filtration has completed. Many of these systems, such as Wellness Kitchen Water Filter, attach to the kitchen sink faucet for instant filtration and mineral injection. Read the instructions for installation on the system that you buy. Unscrew the filter from the faucet. Screw on the water filtration system and attached mineral supplement injector. Turn on the water, and you will have filtered water with minerals any time you need it.
