Instructions

    • 1

Fill the device you will use to heat the stones with water until it is about two-thirds full. You can use a stone heater, a crock pot or a pot on top of the stove. Place the stones in the device and cover it.

    • 2

Heat the water to between 120 and 130 degrees Fahrenheit. After a few minutes check the temperature of the water with your thermometer. Check it again after about five minutes or more to make sure it doesn't get too hot.

    • 3

Test the temperature of the stones against your skin after 15 or 20 minutes. Remove one with the slotted ladle and dry it off. The stone should feel very warm to the touch, but not uncomfortably hot. If the temperature is too cool, return the stone to the pot and wait five more minutes.

    • 4

Remove all the stones and place them on a towel. Dry them off and place them on shoulders, back, legs and upper body.

    • 5

Clean the stones with warm water and soap after each massage to keep them clean and ready to use the next time you want to give a massage.
