1
Get your friend to consume dense foods such as bread, eggs and proteins before drinking if you expect to imbibe large amounts of alcohol. Eating before drinking slows the body's absorption of alcohol, allowing you to enjoy your night without making a fool of yourself. Continue to eat while you drink for the same reasons.

2
Drink an equal amount of water while consuming alcohol. Alcohol dehydrates the body, which it the main cause of a hangover. Staying hydrated will dilute the alcohol in your system and prevent you from feeling some of the ill effects of alcohol.

3
Stop your friend from drinking more when he has reached his limit---don't let him over do it. Don't be afraid to tell someone they have had enough. Sometimes tough love is needed.
-
4
Have your friend drink strong coffee. The caffeine in coffee helps constrict blood vessels in the brain, improving or curing your friends headache.

5
Put your buddy in the bed. Ensure he is lying on his side and let him sleep off his hangover. Do not allow him to sleep on his back as the risk of him aspirating, or choking on, vomit is serious. Periodically check on your friend to make sure he is not in duress.
