How to Test for Candida at Home
Candida or candidiasis is an overgrowth of the yeast candida albicans in our bodies. Candida albicans occurs naturally in our bodies but can cause major illnesses during an overgrowth. Overgrowths are said to be caused by a diet high in sugar and refined foods and the overuse of antibiotics. According to candida expert Cynthia Perkins, "once this hardy organism proliferates in the body, it wreaks havoc in many ways and is the initiator of many common maladies, conditions, syndromes and illnesses in our population." A simple home test can tell you if you may have candida.Things You'll Need

1
Fill the drinking glass 3/4 full of water. Set the glass on a flat surface.

2
Spit into the glass of water immediately upon waking up in the morning. Be sure to not eat or drink anything prior to doing this test.
-
3
Look into the glass immediately after spitting. Watch the activity of your saliva.

4
View the glass after three minutes and again after 30 minutes. Healthy saliva should float on the surface of the water.

Evaluate the activity of your saliva. If there are "legs" or strings coming down from it, if it has sunken to the bottom or if the water has turned completely cloudy, you may have candida.
