Learning to Use Tuning Forks
Tuning forks can be used to balance and treat the body through a process called entrainment. Using an external source, entrainment can adjust an internal rhythm so that the two rhythms become synchronized. Entrainment will either cause one rhythm to rise or fall to meet the other, or cause the two rhythms to meet in the middle. In tuning forks treatments, the tuning fork vibration seeks to bring the vibration of the body back into homeostasis.Things You'll Need

1
Set up your treatment area. Arrange your tuning forks where you can easily reach them. Set your music source so it will play without the need for you to adjust it. Place any essential oils you might use with your tuning forks and activator.
-
2
Prepare your subject for the session. Place your subject, face up, in the center of your treatment area. Place your subject's hands, palms down and slightly extended. Make sure the feet are comfortably apart and the body relaxed.
-
3
Ask your subject to take a deep breath and slowly exhale. Repeat this several times until your subject visibly relaxes. Smooth a drop of essential oil on the acupressure point where you will begin your treatment and continue to smooth the oil into the next several points in your treatment plan.

4
Place the tuning fork on the first treatment point and strike one of the tines with the activator. Gently hold the fork in place until it ceases to vibrate. Move to the next point in your treatment plan. When you finish with this treatment set, hold the fork above the body over your first treatment point. Strike the tine with your activator and slowly retrace your treatment path. Pause and hover over a spot if the tone gets louder and move slowing forward when the tone becomes quieter. Strike the fork with the activator as often as necessary to follow your treatment path. Repeat this process for each additional treatment set.

5
Complete the healing session by striking an Ohm fork and weaving it in figure eight patterns across the body of your subject. Pause and hover over any point where the tone gets louder, and hold it steady until the tone quiets. Allow your subject to rest quietly for several minutes after you finish your weave with the Ohm fork. Offer assistance in rising and thank your subject for allowing you to serve in this way.
