Waterpik Nasal Irrigator Tips
Water Pik is the brand name of a personal hygiene tool that uses pressurized water as its primary cleaning agent. Water Piks are most commonly used for dental hygiene, but you can also equip them with a nasal irrigation tip that will help you clear your sinuses. Two companies provide such tips for the Water Pik dental hygiene machines.-
Sinupulse

The Sinupulse Elite Replacement Sinus Irrigator Tip is angled and features a black, form-fitting nasal applicator. It is hypoallergenic and allows you to control the water pressure. As of August 2010, the tip is compatible with nine different Water Pik models (the WP20, WP30, WP32, WP60, WP65, WP70, WP72, WP90 and the SR400), but it is not designed for use with wireless models.
Grossan
-
The Grossan Original Sinus Irrigator Tip features a similar design as the Sinupulse. It is an angled tip with a cone-like nasal tip and adjustable pressure. As of August 2010, it is compatible with five Water Pik models (the WP60, WP70, WP72, WP90, and the SR400).
Use
-
The University of California, San Diego's Nasal Disease Handbook recommends that you use a warm saline solution to get the best performance out of your nasal irrigation device. Add 1 to 2 tsp. of salt to every liter of water you prepare for use, and keep the water temperature between 72 and 102 degrees Fahrenheit. If the salt causes a burning sensation, add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. of baking soda to the solution. Turn the irrigation device on, place the tip up to one of your nostrils and allow the water to run into your nose. The water will come out of your mouth or your other nostril, along with any materials that have been cleaned from your nasal cavity. Once you feel you've sufficiently cleaned the first nostril, switch to the other side. You can safely perform this procedure up to three times a day.
