Uses for Pascalite
Pascalite is a type of clay that takes it name from Emile Pascal, a French trapper who was working in the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming in the 1930s. Pascal discovered the clay's healing properties after accidentally coming into contact with the substance and realizing that it had improved his chapped skin. People still extract pascalite from the mountains to use as an alternative medicine. Many people report benefits from using this substance, perhaps because of its mineral content.-
Topical Applications
-
A mixture of water and pascalite can treat topical irritations such as burns and skin rashes, skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis, insect and spider bites or stings, infections and cold sores. Topical application in the form of a facial mask may also help those who suffer with acne by removing impurities and soil from the pores. Pascalite may also help to soften the skin.
Internal Ailments
-
A person can mix up to three teaspoons of pascalite powder, twice daily, with a beverage of his choice. Water, milk and coffee are common beverage options. Pascalite is also effective as a powder on food. A person can also take pascalite powder in capsules on a daily basis. When ingested, pascalite can aid digestion, treat ulcers, reduce heartburn and detoxify the colon. Hemorrhoid sufferers may also use pascalite capsules as suppositories to treat the hemorrhoids.
Non-Affliction Uses
-
Some uses of pascalite do not treat illnesses or injuries. For example, a person could apply powdered pascalite to her armpits because the material acts as a natural deodorant. The same properties may be used to reduce diaper rash on infants. Furthermore, a person could use pascalite as a toothpaste (a half-teaspoon mixed with a few drops of water), to improve his oral hygiene and to soothe sore gums and throat.
Miscellaneous
-
Some people use pascalite to treat animal and plant as well as human afflictions. Pascalite has worked to treat sores and pneumonia in cows. Additionally, some veterinarians may use pascalite to treat or cure different ailments such as infections in cats, dogs and horses. Lastly, plants may experience improved growth and productivity when exposed to pascalite.
