Mineral Springs in Colorado
"Colorful Colorado" is not just a state slogan, and Colorado is more than a land of skiing and bright-hued Aspen trees. Spread across the Rocky Mountains are natural mineral pools, geothermally heated and rich in healthy minerals such as sulfur, potassium and magnesium. The ancient peoples who lived in Colorado long before Christopher Columbus ever set sail, believed in the curative powers of Colorado's hot springs. Through the centuries, spas and their surrounding lodges have grown up around these soothing, healthy hot spots.-
The Springs Resort and Spa

Experience the curative powers of Colorado mineral springs. The healing qualities of this water were written about as early as 1890 by J. L. Weaver, U.S. Army Surgeon, as detailed on The Springs Resort and Spa website. Dr. Weaver reportedly performed experiments with the healing waters on chronically ill soldiers. Native Americans used these springs for hundreds of years. The waters are high in sodium, potassium, magnesium and other healthy minerals.
The resort is open from June 15 until Labor Day. More than 20 unique pools are offere--five new deluxe soaking pools were opened in 200--with different temperatures in each pool, from 82 to 114 degrees F. The hotel offers 50 rooms from standard to deluxe, "grande," as well as suites. It is located about five hours from Colorado Springs, Colorado.
