    Background

    • In a 1999 study at Sungkyunkwan University in Korea, aloe vera gel was shown in the lab to prevent the development of cancer. Aloe vera gel has significant "anti-tumor promoting effects."

    Burns

    • Several scientific reports showed improved healing of minor burns with aloe vera gel. In 1963, A. Farkas received a patent for an aloe vera gel preparation, to use as a topical medication for burns.

    Hair

    • Aloe vera gel was shown to regenerate hair follicles and regrow hair by John Heggers, Ph.D. These experiments were done in 1979 on burned guinea pigs at the Chicago Burn Center.
