Uses for Almond Oil

Almond oil is a versatile beauty product that has many applications and can be added to many products for moisturizing benefits. As it is chock full of vitamin E and other minerals, it can act as a skin smoother, hair conditioner and even a lip balm. A small bottle of almond oil will last quite a while, and you'll always find different uses for it to keep you looking your best.
  1. Hair Conditioner

    • Traditional hair conditioner is filled with synthetic products that are supposed to mimic the look of health and shine in your hair, but don't actually make your hair any healthier or shinier. The silicone found in most conditioner adds glass to your hair for a short while, which can dull over time. Using almond oil on your hair leaves it shiny and supple and actually improves your hair by using natural moisturizers to keep it hydrated and smooth. Just use a small amount on your fingers and apply to the ends of your hair for superior conditioning.

    Wrinkles

    • The vitamin E in almond oil plumps up skin, which helps fine lines and wrinkles disappear. Almond oil is also a great daily moisturizer that can be used to keep your skin looking soft and young. Just apply a small amount of almond oil to some of your problem areas, like around your mouth, eyes and forehead. You can do this before bed and let the oil sink in all night, or leave a thick layer on for ten minutes and rinse with warm water during the daytime.

    Lip Balm

    • Almond oil is highly moisturizing, which makes it perfect for a lip balm. You can even makes your own lip balm by combining a small container of petroleum jelly with a few drops of almond oil, and another few drops of your favorite essential oil, such as mint, to scent. Your homemade lip balm will be just as moisturizing, if not more, than those pricey store bought lip balms with unreadable ingredients.

    Massage Lotion

    • Are you looking for an easy way to get rid of the everyday stress from your life? Grab a small bottle of almond oil and pour it into a shallow dish. Microwave it for 15 seconds and then test it with your fingers to make sure that it isn't too hot. Then, ask a loved one for a smoothing, warm almond oil massage. The heated oil will smooth stress away, while leaving your skin soft and rejuvenated.

    Baby Oil

    • If you want your baby to have smooth skin, then almond oil can do just the trick. After a warm bath, smooth a little almond oil over your baby's legs, arms and torso. Not only will his skin be smooth and nourished, this nightly massage can make him sleep better.
