How to Heal with Microcurrent
Microcurrent is a type of therapy that uses electrical energy to increase production of adenosine triphosphate, or ATP. ATP is the form of energy in the human body that helps fuel the cells, which aids in tissue repair and regeneration. Increasing ATP in the body is like increasing caloric intake during heavy exercise. It provides more fuel, which allows the cells to work faster and more effectively. Microcurrent therapy has been shown to boost the amount of ATP in tissue by as much as 400 percent and reduce healing time by 40 to 50 percent.Things You'll Need
- Personal microcurrent stimulator
- Microcurrent wraps

1
Plug the electrodes into the microcurrent stimulator. A personal microcurrent stimulator will come with at least two electrodes for use.
-
2
Affix the electrodes to the part of the body where you are experiencing pain. Electrodes are self-adhesive and will stick into place.
-
3
Adjust the timer of the stimulator. Small personal stimulators may have only two time limits, 20 and 40 minutes. Set the timer for the amount of the time you would like the microcurrent to run.
-
4
Press the timer button. The microcurrent will start running through the electrodes and will continue running for the length of time for which the stimulator is set. These small stimulators can be left on for longer periods without causing damage, even for an hour or two at a time. If you want to run the microcurrent longer, simply start the timer again.

Try microcurrent wraps. These wraps, made similarly to heat wraps, come in different types, such as back wraps or knee wraps. To use a microcurrent wrap, secure it into place with the attached Velcro fasteners. Snap the battery pack into the battery compartment on the wrap and the current from the battery will move through the fabric of the wrap. A microcurrent wrap should be used for no more than three hours a day.
