Ionithermie Detox Treatment

The ionithermie detox treatment is a popular European treatment combining massage and electronic stimulation to treat cellulite and cellulite-causing toxins. The ionithermie detox uses natural sea minerals that penetrate deep into the body's fat cells to smooth and firm areas of the body.
  1. Treating Cellulite

    • Ionithermie detox therapy is a popular treatment for cellulite and skin problems caused by cellulite. Toxic waste and water build up in the cells of the body, and if the body cannot expel these toxins, they eventually become fatty tissue. The skin stretches and contracts around the areas of built-up fat, causing the lumpy effect of cellulite on the skin.

    Aims

    • The main aims of the treatment are to improve the consistency of skin affected by cellulite and to contour areas of the body that are treated. Some patients see results from the very first treatment; some see a reduction in treated areas from 1 to 6 inches at the first treatment. Ionithermie treatment also attempts to increase the patient's energy levels and restore metabolic function through the detoxifying sea minerals. For results to be maintained for a longer period of time, a series of treatments is recommended.

    The Treatment

    • After the areas to be treated are decided upon, a massage is administered with an exfoliating scrub containing sea minerals. The exfoliating scrub used in the therapy contains sea plant extracts that contain hydrating minerals; sea plants used in the scrub include algae, kelp, ivy and guarana. Next, fabric is applied to the treatment area, which is then covered in a special clay mixture. Algae is an important ingredient in the clay mixture, as it affects the cellular activity of the treatment areas and continues the detoxification process. Electronic pads are attached to the hardened clay, through which galvanic and faradic electric stimulation is applied to infuse the sea plant extracts deep into the skin tissue. Once the electronic stimulation is complete, the pads are removed and the treatment areas are again massaged before the clay is removed.
