Naturopathic Cures for Jock Itch

Jock itch is a fungal infection that causes an irritating rash, itch and sometimes blisters on the thighs, buttocks and genital area of the body, and is more prevalent in men than women.
  1. Natural Remedies

    • Soaking in a hot tub of Epsom salt will dry up any blisters associated with the condition. You can also wash the affected area daily with a dandruff shampoo. When the affected area is dry, apply corn starch as often as desired to relieve the itch. The fungus attacks warm, moist areas of the body, and it is important to keep the area as dry as possible.

    Prevention

    • Wear loose cotton underwear and stay away from beer, which contains yeast and will speed up the growth of the fungus. Change your underwear daily and use baby powder or corn starch to keep the area dry.

    Medical Treatment

    • If the condition does not clear up with natural treatments, a physician should be consulted as a more serious medical condition may exist.
