1
Pour the Listerine in a bowl that's big enough to fit your entire foot. It's easier to place your whole foot in the bowl than to keep only your toes inside. Remove your shoes and socks and set them off to one side.
-
2
Place the affected foot directly into the bowl. The Listerine should cover at least the entire affected area. Let sit for at least 30 minutes. You can keep it in longer, but 30 minutes is the recommended amount of time.
-
3
Dry off the foot with a clean towel. As soon as you dry off the foot, toss the towel in the dirty laundry pile. If you keep using the same towel or someone else uses it later, you'll only spread the toe fungus around.
-
4
Repeat every night for at least three weeks. Listerine isn't a quick fix, but it is an easy one. It might take longer for you to see results or it might take less. It depends on the severity of the fungus and the reaction time of your body.
-
5
Trim the fungus-affected part of the toenail off. The Listerine stops the toe fungus from progressing and cures the fungus, but the fungus on the toenail will remain. As the nail grows, trim off the part with fungus to keep your toes looking healthy.
