How to Make an Ionic Foot Bath at Home
Ionic foot baths detoxify your body by using a mild electric current to generate positively-charged and negatively-charged ions from salts. These ions enter your body through the warm water surrounding your feet and draw out the toxins. After soaking your feet in an ionic foot bath for a few minutes, you'll see the water change color. Some potential health benefits of the foot bath include reduced pain and joint stiffness, enhanced immune system functioning and faster recovery from illness.Things You'll Need
- 2 pieces of electrical wire, 5 feet each
- 2 stainless steel spoons
- Electrical tape
- 2 alligator clips
- 9-volt battery
- 2 large bowls or wash basins
- 1 tsp sea salt or Epsom salt
Instructions
-
-
1
Attach one piece of electrical wire to a spoon and seal with electrical tape. Repeat with second electrical wire and second spoon.
-
2
Use an alligator clip to attach the loose end of one wire to the negative end of the 9-volt battery. Clip the other wire to the positive end of the battery.
-
3
Fill the two bowls or basins with warm water. The water level should be high enough for you to completely immerse a foot in each bowl -- generally speaking, three inches of water in each bowl is sufficient.
-
4
Put half a teaspoon of Epsom salt or sea salt in each basin of water.
-
5
Place the negatively-charged spoon in one bowl and the positively-charged spoon in the other bowl. Place one foot in each bowl.
