  Find a source of emu oil. The oil can be found through online searches, but you may also be able to find it in local skin care stores, specialty health stores, or even tattoo/piercing shops.

  Carefully wash the piercing in warm salt water if you have it available.

  Apply the emu oil gently and carefully to the piercing.

  Massage the emu oil into your skin all around the piercing. If you can move the piercing or rotate it to allow the emu oil to penetrate the hole, do so.

  Apply the emu oil as often as you can remember. There is no adverse effect to applying it often, and the more you can apply it, the better.
