What are paraurethral glands?

Paraurethral glands are small, mucus-producing glands located on the underside of the urethra in both men and women. In males, the paraurethral glands include the bulbourethral glands and the Littré glands, which are involved in the production of seminal fluid and lubrication during sexual arousal. In females, the paraurethral glands are referred to as Skene's glands, and they contribute to the production of urethral mucus and play a role in female sexual arousal and lubrication.
