How long has reflexology been practiced?
The history of reflexology dates back to ancient Egypt. Depictions of foot massage have been found on the walls of tombs dating to 2330 BC. Ancient texts from China and India also mention the use of reflexology for healing purposes. In the early 1900s, reflexology was introduced to Europe and America by Eunice Ingham. She developed a system of reflexology based on zone therapy, which divides the body into 10 vertical zones that correspond to different organs and systems. Reflexology has since gained popularity as a complementary therapy for a variety of conditions, including stress, pain, and digestive problems.
