Is olfactory a sensory or motor nerve?

Olfactory nerves are sensory nerves. They are responsible for our sense of smell. Olfactory nerves are located in the nose and connect the olfactory bulb to the brain. They are responsible for detecting odours and sending signals to the brain, which interprets them as smells.
