What Are the Symbols in Reiki Used For?
Second-degree Reiki practitioners are attuned to channeling a greater amount of energy than in the first level. As part of this training they learn to use and activate the three fundamental symbols to enhance and expand healing techniques.-
Significance
-
Second-degree practitioners learn to use three symbols to increase healing and induce balance. These symbols are drawn in the air to be energetically activated.
Power Symbol
-
The primary symbol is used to turn on and increase Reiki energy. The power symbol is often used at the start of the healing session to open up the energy.
Mental/Emotional Symbol
-
The mental/emotional symbol stimulates emotional and mental processes to help physical imbalances. The symbol is used in conjunction with other symbols to help the individual release blockages.
Distance Symbol
-
The distance symbol activates an energetic bridge for space and time. This symbol is used for absentee healing (when the client is not present), distance healing (for past traumas) and for sending Reiki outside of your current situation (e.g., future stressful events and global healing).
Considerations
-
Reiki practitioners and teachers consider the symbols sacred because they carry a beneficial intention. Application of these symbols is expanding, so individuals use these symbols when so inspired.
