Why god and circumcision?
Circumcision as a religious practice originated in ancient cultures and has been practiced for various non-religious reasons. The association of circumcision with God and religious faith is primarily linked to specific beliefs and rituals within certain religious traditions.
In the case of Judaism, circumcision is viewed as a covenant between God and the Jewish people known as the "brit milah." This ritual is based on the belief that God instructed Abraham, the biblical patriarch, to circumcise himself and his descendants as a sign of their commitment and devotion to God.
Within the Muslim tradition, circumcision is also practiced as a religious observance, although it is not explicitly mandated in the Quran. It is seen as a way of following the example of the Prophet Muhammad and as an act of hygiene and purification.
It is important to note that circumcision is a ritual that is practiced in different religious and cultural contexts, and it is not exclusive to any one religion or belief system.
